I’m back from the doctor appointment. I did the blood test and they had me wait for results. I tested out as 7.7 in his office, which is still low. However, he thinks it’s just menstruation-related loss that I don’t ever fully recover from. He wants me to take 3 iron pills a day for at least a month to get me back in the normal range, if my stomach can handle it. Afterwards, he wants me to take an iron pill every day. Probably for the rest of my life. :( He also wants me to come back in a month to see how I’m doing. He said that some women have a difficult time getting their iron levels back to a normal range.

It amused me that my doctor took a look at my palms and then closely at my face and declared, “You are really pale.” Oh yeah? Somebody ought to talk to Eowyn too, then. Or more properly the actress that plays her. We share a skin tone. :P Though he did qualify his statement that since I'm so fair anyway that people would assume it was my natural pallor.

Ya know, the nurses at the blood donation location only had to prick my finger to do their test. His nurse took two of those ampoule thingies. I'm thinking somebody could be more efficient. I don't think I've ever had a blood test before, other than when attempting to give blood. Those tourniquets suck.
