I know he can GET the job, but can he DO the job?

Oh, it feels like Monday. I feel like I'm suffering from a brain cloud, just like Joe vs. The Volcano. I've always had a fondness for that movie. So does my husband. He bought orange soda recently and called it his "Waponi juice".

I blame yesterday for this brain clouded-ness. We went to the Texas Renaissance Festival and tromped all over the place. For a couple of soft office workers, that can be tiring. It was the last day of the festival, and I tried to hits spots I hadn't done in years past. Tonight I'll get the pictures out of the digital camera, 'cause last night it didn't want to work. It seems the camera gets too tired to transfer pictures unless the battery is charged. Last night, we all needed our batteries charged. I feel like I was taken out of the charger too soon today.

There's a funny story related to all this, but maybe later I'll share how silly we are. Let's just say we PLANNED to go to the Tx Renfaire on SATURDAY. Heh.

"Really? I thought you were joking."

My hubby and I are both children sometimes. And because of that, we both assume the other has done the reasonable thing. We have an unconscious order of things. He calls the cable company if things go awry and I call for doctor's appointments and usually for take-out. Otherwise, whoever fucked up a situation usually is the one who calls. Whoops, I just remembered something. I got tagged for figuring out how to get somebody to powerwash the side of the house. I was dumb enough to agree to do that one.

So, on Saturday we planned to go to the Texas Renaissance Festival. Yay us! The tickets were in Cliff's big coffee can of loose change. The digital camera was charged up. The internet was slow as molasses in bringing up the Mapquest directions and we were running later than I wanted. I wanted to get up there in time for the noon parade. It takes about an hour and half to get up there and it was 10:15pm. Time was a-tickin'. However, a Binah should not be rushed. Just sayin'.

We get in the car and drive off. Five minutes into our drive, Cliff asks, "Did you bring the camera?"
Me: "Aww damn, I forgot. Wanna go back?"
Cliff: "No, we'll be late!"
Me: Grumble, grumble.

Thirty minutes into the drive:
Cliff: "Do you have the tickets?"
Me: "No, don't you?!?"
Cliff: "Ha, ha. You're funny."
Me: "NO, seriously, I don't have the tickets."
Cliff: "Really? I thought you were joking."
Me: "No."

We look at each other.

Cliff: "Uh, where are the tickets then?"
Me: "In your coffee can thingy. Remember you told me to put them there?"
Cliff: "Awwwww."

Suffice to say, we did not go to the Texas Renaissance Festival that day. We both blamed ourselves and alternately tried to tell the other not to feel blame. I took an alternate route home to get Cliff some breakfast and ended up in a huge traffic jam.

Post traffic jam, we finally got some very late breakfast. We pondered grocery shopping, but ended up going straight home. Defeated by fate, we determined to go by a checklist before we left the house again.
