So, on Saturday we planned to go to the Texas Renaissance Festival. Yay us! The tickets were in Cliff's big coffee can of loose change. The digital camera was charged up. The internet was slow as molasses in bringing up the Mapquest directions and we were running later than I wanted. I wanted to get up there in time for the noon parade. It takes about an hour and half to get up there and it was 10:15pm. Time was a-tickin'. However, a Binah should not be rushed. Just sayin'.
We get in the car and drive off. Five minutes into our drive, Cliff asks, "Did you bring the camera?"
Me: "Aww damn, I forgot. Wanna go back?"
Cliff: "No, we'll be late!"
Me: Grumble, grumble.
Thirty minutes into the drive:
Cliff: "Do you have the tickets?"
Me: "No, don't you?!?"
Cliff: "Ha, ha. You're funny."
Me: "NO, seriously, I don't have the tickets."
Cliff: "Really? I thought you were joking."
Me: "No."
We look at each other.
Cliff: "Uh, where are the tickets then?"
Me: "In your coffee can thingy. Remember you told me to put them there?"
Cliff: "Awwwww."
Suffice to say, we did not go to the Texas Renaissance Festival that day. We both blamed ourselves and alternately tried to tell the other not to feel blame. I took an alternate route home to get Cliff some breakfast and ended up in a huge traffic jam.
Post traffic jam, we finally got some very late breakfast. We pondered grocery shopping, but ended up going straight home. Defeated by fate, we determined to go by a checklist before we left the house again.
