I peered between the blinds and saw my sister-in-law from LOUISIANA at the door. I welcomed her in, and went to our bedroom and hissed at him, "Your sister Pat is here!!" But, it wasn't only Pat, but her husband Dave and their daughter Justine with husband and daughter in tow. And the cutest puppy, I ever did see. And I don't even really like dogs.
Pat and Dave were in town visiting their daughter's family and went to some pet show near us and decided to drop in. Other than not expecting them, it was a nice visit. I finally had used my new KitchenAid mixer to make cookies last night, so I had something to offer one and all and the house was in fairly decent shape.
Justine bought a puppy (Australian Sheepherder or something like that). It was mostly a milk chocolately brown and white pup with gorgeous blue eyes. I could never resist blue eyes--as my husband can attest to. The poor little guy was just pooped out by the end of the visit. He was falling asleep on me when I was holding him. I put him on the couch to sleep. Poor 'lil guy.
Pat and Dave hadn't been to our house since the wedding, so they were surprised to see the oven we bought over the summer. They oohed and ahhed over it. Pat is definitely in the market for a new oven, letmetellya. She had me look up my oven online, and I gave her a print-out of it from Sears.com.
They left around 1pm. We were telling them how we're planning on taking a cruise this May. And because it was fresh in our minds, we went ahead and picked one out and purchased our tickets. Yay! Departing from Houston, we go to Cozumel, Roatan Islands (Honduras), Belize City, Belize and Cancun and return back to Houston. Yay us!
When we finished THAT, it was about 1:45pm! I had to meet the girls at 2pm. Lynda had picked Avalon Diner. Cliff invited himself along, 'cause he likes their breakfast. Kim and Lynda like him, so I knew they'd be cool with it. A lovely time was had by all.
Then Cliff and I went to Barnes & Noble, 'cause he's looking for a book that'll cover a specific Java issue that has something to do with a C dll he wrote. He found no joy in that mission, but found some Spiderman comic books he wanted. Marvel has been printing the first Amazing Spiderman comic books in book form. After today's purchase, he now has Nos. 1-40.
Then I popped into Payless Shoe Source and bought 4 pairs of shoes. Yay. And now we're home. He's napping and I'm brewing tea. And, we have Carnivale tonight!!!
