Weekend Doings

I had my brakes done on Saturday. And when my car is unavailable, our only transportation is my husband's motorcycle. We ran a number of errands and so we tooled around in 78-80F weather. It was nice, except I need to secure my hair better than I did. My scrunchie was lost on the freeway. And I lost much hair combing out the rat nest my hair became.

We took my parents to The Cheesecake Factory on Saturday. They took their truck. A lovely time was had by all. Plus, we shared a very, very tasty appetizer.

FIRE-ROASTED FRESH ARTICHOKE
Fresh Artichoke Fire-Roasted and Topped with a Spicy Vinaigrette.
Served with Garlic Dip (Seasonal)


YUM. Highly recommend it. One thing about artichoke is that I very much prefer fresh over the standard pickled varieties found in jars. Pickling never improves flavor in my experience. The Macaroni Grill offers pickled artichoke in their "create you own pasta bowl" which isn't too bad. But go for their artichoke-spinach shrimp dip. So tasty. Too bad the closest location to me closed after a fire. Le sigh.

We took the 'rents to lunch, because we wanted them to help us bring home (in their truck) the kitty skyscraper tower we wanted to buy at Petsmart. This tower is a little over 6 ft. tall. Yes, we are very indulgent parents to our Jack. Though watching him scale the tower to the top filled our hearts with kitty glee. I will have to take pictures. Laws, yes.
