Lalalala...Movies! (non-spoilery)

Watched War of the Worlds yesterday. Pretty crappy movie, really. The characters were unsympathetic, and none too bright. Then again the aliens weren't all so efficient for having planned the invasion for hundreds to thousands of years. One character says a the plan was in place for a million years. If that was the writers trying to express that sentiment, they had no proof to back it up. Feh. Even Cliff who likes dumb movies thought this one was lame.

Honestly, Signs did the concept better. At least you cared about those characters. Plus? Joaquin Phoenix. It's hard to go wrong with him in the frame. ;D

Cliff's birthday is on Friday. He's taken the day off. I ask him what he wanted to do on his birthday. His response? "I wanna see X-Men 3!" Heh. I should have seen that one coming. I've seen mixed reviews of it, but I'm still game. Speaking of mixed reviews, I think we'll also eventually see The Da Vinci Code. I've read the book and he's interested after all the hype. It's hard to believe they could screw up such a movie-ready book, but I'll go in with my expectations appropriately lowered. Not that the book was high literature, but it seemed like it could be a fun movie.

I think I'm ready for lunch. Leftover spaghetti, here I come! Ciao!
